Miami River Fitness Methodology
Our training methodology is based on increasing work capacity across broad time and modal domains with the end result of improving fitness and health amongst all of our athletes. Miami River Fitness incorporates Gymnastics, Weightlifting (Olympic & powerlifting), and Endurance. Our overall aim is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency—not only for the unknown but for the unknowable, too.

The sense of community at Miami River Fitness is unique; everyone knows one another, there is always someone to help with technique, you compare workout results, discuss competitions etc. At Miami River Fitness you know names, life stories … you know the people… you are the community. Community is what will change us and the world around us!
Fitness in 100 Words
“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean and jerk, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climbs, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”
